Psalms 33:4

4 For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

The psalmist began this psalm with a call to praise God. Then he proceeded to give reasons why God is to be praised. The first and foremost reason he gave for the praise of God is that "the word of the LORD is right."

God's Word is absolutely right according to God's own perfect rule of right. If any one were to say that the Word of the LORD is not right, then he is making God a liar. According to God's own perfect standard, His Word is right in all that it says.

Whatever God says is right; or, is true. All of His words are absolutely trustworthy. God being infinitely wise, He cannot have uttered any mistake. All the words, laws, promises, counsels, warnings, rebukes, corrections, instructions and even judgement of God in the Bible are perfectly true and just. It is worthy of universal belief; and should, therefore, be a reason for praise. The fact that God says a thing is the highest proof that it is true.

The psalmist also asserted that "All his works are done in truth." All the works of God are according to His truth. God's providential works are according to His Word. He neither does nor says anything contrary to what He has already revealed in His Word.

There is no lie in God's Word. He never deceives anyone either. There is also no fraud in what God has revealed in His Word, nor in His works of providence. Believing and obeying Gods Word will keep us from all false ways.

In Deuteronomy 32:4, concerning God, it is said, "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he." It is God's nature to be full of truth in all that He says and do. He will never mislead us. He will never lead us through the false way. What a God we serve!

God's Word and work are totally dependable. Because all His Words and works are full of truth, we can always depend upon Him. He can be thoroughly trusted; and so let us always be thankful that He has given us such a trustworthy and reliable source for our guidance and blessing.
