Scripture clearly teaches that the main job of a young mother is to be the manager of the house. Read the following: “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed” (Titus 2:4-5). The words “keepers at home” is a translation of one Greek word (oikourgous) that means “home-worker”. A mother has so much to do at home in the rearing of her children and lovingly supporting her husband. So once again, Scripture tells us, “I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house, give none occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully” (1 Timothy 5:14). Like the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, may all Christian mothers learn to give top priority to the things at home that she may become a true blessing to her children and husband. According to God’s Word, she shall be praised – “Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her” (Proverbs 31:28).
